So Many to Choose From

For those of you looking at wedding invitations I know how overwhelming it can feel, so many albums, colors, designs, papers, etc. It doesn't have to be so daunting. We like to make it as easy and stress free as possible. By letting us know what your colors are, if you want simple, colorful, natural, flowers, or contemporary designs, it will help us select the perfect albums that suit your taste for you to look through. There is also the option to create your own invitation, with graphic artists on staff we can create almost anything you desire. So if you have a very specific idea in mind then this might be the way to go. So come on in and let us help you get started on your very special event.

Why Stationery?

In today's fast pace world everything is done via email, cell phones, and websites because its fast. Not many of us send letters by snail mail anymore. I think, like many of you probably do as well, its fun to receive a letter addressed to you in the mail that's not a bill! Whether it be an invitation or a friendly letter, it makes getting the mail a bit more fun. We have a variety of styles and cards, from earth friendly to fun unique gifts. Taking the time to write and send a letter or invitation, I think really adds a personal touch.

The Impact of Paper

When wanting your resume to stand out in the crowd you need to pick the right paper. Most people don't pay attention to paper until they come in contact with something they have never seen before. The textures and colors are just the start. Once you have added your font the words on the page come alive. When making a first impression make sure you think about the small things. Sometimes those can be the ones that get you ahead. Come in and check out our selection of papers for your next event.

Business Stationery

Want to make a great impression with your customers? Send a little, handwritten note simply to say hi! Inside you can include a coupon..or your business card.
Everyone likes to know that someone is thinking of them and the it takes less time to jot a note than have a phone conversation!

The notes can be customized with your logo or personalized with your name or monogram, just write....it is the right thing!

Supports Avon Walkfor Breast Cancer

Last week we proudly made a donation to the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer - Charlotte. Next weekend there will be an event called Pink on the Plaza, an outdoor festival and training session. We donated the gift bags, discount coupons, and items for the silent auction for this event.

We love supporting charity, and with an Aunt who died of Breast Cancer, and a friend who is a Breast Cancer survivor, we wanted to help with this one anyway we could.

Stay tuned for more details on our support of breast cancer research!

Yes, even stationery can be green or environmentally friendly. Three Little Birds is proud to have an entire line of stationery that contains at least 30% post consumer fiber. In addition, we have correspondence notes that not only are printed on recycled paper, but use soy inks, and recyclable or reusable packaging.

From greeting cards, to journals, to invitations - you can be environmentally friendly with your stationery too.

Online versus instore

Which is better when shopping for stationery; online or in-store? Well, it depends on your needs and what you are buying. Of course we love for customers to have an in store experience at Three Little Birds so we can show off our knowledge and wonderful selection! Having said that, we have customers across the US who only buy online, why? Convenience!

If you like to touch the paper and see the images up close then in store is perfect. If you do not need to see as many choices then online is good as samples can be mailed to you often at a nominal cost...if at all!

The key to either shopping experience is providing information and asking questions. Here is a little list to help you with your stationery shopping no matter where you choose to do it!

Information to Share
  • Event details (what type of event, indoors or outside, themes, formal or casual)
  • Budget and quantity
  • Your style (favorite colors, favorite fonts)
Questions to Ask
  • Is there is a quantity minimum?
  • How soon can I get these?
  • Will I get a proof? If so, is there a fee?
  • Is shipping included in the price?
  • Is return address printing included?
  • Can you print the addresses for my guests? If so, how much does this cost?
At Three Little Birds we are proud to offer our customers with both solutions with great customer service and added perks, like complimentary proofs.

Hey everyone,
My name is Georgina and I am an Associate Graphic Designer here at Three Little Birds. Stationery is a passion of mine and I love to help people create their ideal invitation, whether it be for a wedding or a friendly gathering. So come and stop by and see what all the fun is about.

Introduction

Well now that we've started this blog, I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Dana Kunkel, the Staff Illustrator here at Three Little Birds. Basically, I'm in charge of drawing and designing all the custom illustrations for our invitations.
For example today we had a customer ask for an Adirondack chair for her wedding program. So I whipped up this little drawing of a chair, and Meghanne, our designer, put it in the program.
Anyway, like Meghanne said earlier, I really think custom invitations are a great way to go. It's your wedding after all, and a custom invitation is a great way to make it a really personal event. Plus I love doing them! Well, hopefully I'll see you in the store soon!

Advantage of Custom Designed Invitations

Do you want an invitation that no one has? Do you want to impress friends and family? The best way to do that is with custom designed invitations. An invitation sets off the mood for an event. You want everyone to be excited about attending your event. With an illustrator and graphic artist on hand coming up with something creative is what we do best. We are all about making our customer happy and creating the best experience for everyone. Custom designed invitations are a step above the rest. Something unique that you can help design. Everyone will want to attend your event.

Why Double Envelopes?

Many brides want double envelopes for their wedding invitations, but they don't know the history.

The use of double envelopes goes back to the Victorian era when mail was hand delivered. It would often become soiled while in transit so the deliverer would discard the outer envelope and present the unsoiled inner envelope to the butler of the invited guest so that guest would not come into contact with a dirty envelope.

Three Little Birds is proud to offer hundreds of designs that pay homage to the tradition of double envelopes.
